Hu-Man
Origianlly based in Burnley, Lancashire, Hu-Man.org is a guild and umbrella hub that operated from 2003 to 2013. Born out of a historic building, it quickly became a focal point for cultural exchange, creativity, and innovation.
Following the banking crash, Hu-Man.org embraced electronic digital media platforms to further its vision and goals. The guild's mission is to nurture partnerships, collaboration, and ethical trade. We undertake projects to build core capacity and capability through hands-on skill transfer, knowledge exchange, and networking.
The heart of Hu-Man.org beats with the rhythm of cultural exchange and innovation. Mo Khan, the driving force behind the guild, finished his Masters in Quality Management Systems and, driven by a keen interest in environmental and climate change realities, embarked on a journey of cultural exchange and knowledge transfer.
In 1996, Mo Khan met Ahmed Kane, a Senegalese bi-polar musician, initiating a collaboration that would lead to groundbreaking music and exploration of environmental and climate change issues through creative expression.
In 2001, in response to the aftermath of 9/11, Hu-Man.org sought refuge in a historic building in Burnley, Lancashire, transforming it into The Who Gallery. Over the next decade, The Who Gallery became a vibrant hub for community engagement, hosting music gigs, small festivals, conferences, and art exhibitions.
Hu-Man.org's impact extended far beyond Burnley. The guild successfully secured grants and investments, renovating the building and expanding its activities. From music events to conferences addressing banking paradigms, Hu-Man.org remained at the forefront of innovation and community cohesion.
Today, Hu-Man.org continues to be a driving force for change, promoting cultural exchange, creativity, and innovation. Our mission remains unchanged: to inspire positive transformation through collaboration, creativity, and cultural exchange.
